Microsoft's announced the Windows Phone 7 along with the first wave of Xbox Live games to arrive on the mobile this Christmas.
Windows Phone 7 will feature a Games hub featuring Xbox Live and will be supported by content from Microsoft Game Studios.
This means that Windows Phone 7 will offer companion titles to familiar first-party franchises such as Halo: Waypoint and Crackdown 2. Check out the full list of launch software through here.
"We believe that no matter where life takes you, the best in gaming and entertainment should follow," said corporate vice president of Xbox Live at Microsoft Marc Whitten.
"Windows Phone 7 takes a different approach to handheld gaming, utilising Xbox LIVE, Microsoft Game Studios, leading game publishers, and innovative indie developers, to create powerful, shared experiences for everyone."
General manager of mobile gaming for MGS said that Windows Phone 7 is a major gaming platform for Microsoft:
"Just like we've done with Xbox 360, our charter is to push the envelope and deliver definitive games that maximise the platform," he said.
"We will have an incredible line-up of MGS titles, and that's just the beginning."
The news comes out of the first day of GamesCom where Microsoft also announced the UK release date for Kinect.
