Brothers in Arms could be the next WWII shooter series to take on Modern Warfare, with Gearbox teasing "new directions" for future instalments.
Gearbox head honcho Randy Pitchford - who's already been talking about Duke Nukem and Aliens this week - wouldn't confirm a new BiA title is in the works, speaking to Joystiq, but did promise that one will be made at some point - and it sounds like it's going to follow CoD and Medal of Honor into the 21st century.
"We also may do some other things that maybe treat the game in some different ways and take some different directions," he said. "It was our first original IP. So we'll be taking care of that one."
Further suggesting a new Brothers game is in development, Pitchford added: "We've got a lot of action right now, but we're not ready quite yet to bring it out. We want to make sure we know we've got it right before we tell you what we're doing."
The last series entry was 2008's Hell's Highway, which received mixed reviews.
Just do it, Gearbox - we can't be dealing with any more WWII shooters just yet.
