Military retains Medal of Honor ban despite Taliban change

Stores on bases still won't sell EA shooter

The ban on the sale of EA's Medal of Honor in game stores on Military bases still stands, despite EA's decision to cut the controversial Taliban reference in the game's multiplayer mode.

The bad guys will now be called the Opposing Forces, yet The Army & Air Force Exchange Service Commander Maj. Gen. Bruce Casella has issued a statement saying the decision not to sell the title "remains unchanged".

"Out of respect to those touched by the ongoing, real-life events presented as a game, Exchanges will not be carrying this product. I expect the military families who are authorized to shop the Exchange are aware, and understanding, of the decision not to carry this particular offering."

It turns out EA's ditching of the Taliban MP team was ENTIRELY down to Jack Thompson. What, you didn't know? Yeah, he's still alive, and thinks YOU can "go to Hell".
