NBA Jam PS3/360 coming as disc releases?

Game rental service GameFly lists previously download-only game

GameFly, a video game rental service in the US, has listed PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of NBA Jam to be available for rent from November 18.

There are two bits of news in there. First up, NBA Jam was intended on PS3 and 360 to be a download game without the Remix Tour Mode of the Wii version, which launched earlier this month. It was also set to be free with NBA Elite 11, but was made a separate game when NBA Elite was delayed indefinitely.

If a rental service is offering the game, it would need to come on disc - which lends weight to recent rumours that EA would make the PS3/360 versions a disc game with the Remix Tour Mode added in.

The other news is that November 18 release date. EA has only so far committed to releasing the game "in time for the holidays". Could GameFly know something the rest of us don't?

An EA rep has responded: "The development team is working hard on NBA Jam on Xbox 360 and PS3 to get it finished in time for the holidays. We are not prepared to make any announcements at this time but we should have some exciting news to share very soon."
