Microsoft is currently searching for a developer to build a new Project Gotham Racing game.
That's according to Develop, which claims the platform holder has held secret meetings with several independent European studios interested in taking on the job.
A source told the site that Microsoft is undecided on which studio to give the project to, but it appears unlikely that it'll be developed by Forza maker Turn 10, which is a first party studio.
Bizarre Creations made the first four games in the multi-million selling PG series, but the developer's now owned by Activision.
Microsoft declined to comment on Project Gotham Racing 5 when rumours of the title's existence emerged last year.
