Metal Gear Solid: Rising will reportedly launch in 2012.
First announced at E3 2009, the Xbox 360 and PS3 game is set between the second and fourth entries in the series, and stars MGS 2 lead Raiden.
It was initially expected to be out in 2011, but Kotaku sources indicate that it will now launch in 2012.
Offering "Lighting Bolt Action", MGS: Rising will allow players to "cut at will" - Raiden is able to slice and dice lots environmental objects, as well as enemies and - of course - watermelons.
Konami promises it will deliver "a totally new Metal Gear experience". Get more details on the game here.
