Assassin's Creed Ascendance is animated, out tomorrow

"Animated short" to bridge gap between games

Ubisoft's got around to telling us what Assassin's Creed Ascendance is, before its North American release date TOMORROW.

It turns out it's an animated short story, set to bridge the narrative gap between Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.

"Ascendance follows Assassin Ezio Auditore as he struggles to remove the treacherous Borgia family from their papal throne," reads Ubisoft's official blurb. "Ezio will learn the brutal truth behind Ceasare Borgia's rise to power to control Italy."

We're glad we got that sorted.

Ubisoft released a teaser trailer for Ascendance last week.

Ascendance is just one part of Ubisoft's trans-media plan for Creed, which also includes a comic book and Facebook game.

Last week also saw the first Assassin's Creed review scores come in, leading with PSM3 magazine's 92%. Look for ours tomorrow.
