id's John Carmack has confirmed that Rage: Mutant Bash TV, will be released on iOS devices tomorrow.
Mutant Bash looks to be a simple, time-attack-style first-person shooter in which you "pick your targets, aim your shots, time your reloads, dodge the bad guys, and try and make it through to the end of the level with a better score than last time."
An impressive demo back in august showed the game running high-detail visuals at 60 frames-per-second on the Apple hardware, Carmack claiming that it "kills anything done on the Xbox (1) or PlayStation 2".
Two versions will be released, a standard version for $0.99, and a 'HD' edition for iPhone 4 and iPad for $1.99.
Having to pay DOUBLE for an iPhone 4 game just because it's got a better screen is BS, by the way.
Carmack announced during the August presentation that another, more fully-featured Rage game would be coming to iOS next year to coincide with the release of the console game, which is slated for release in September 2011.
