Less than a day after Microsoft's Kinect boasting, Sony has said it's sold over 4.1 million PlayStation Move motion controllers worldwide.
That's one Move unit sold for every ten PS3s on the planet, according to the platform holder, which didn't count standalone sales of the PlayStation Eye camera or the Move navigation controller in its total.
As a point of comparison, Microsoft said yesterday that rival motion control solution Kinect sold 2.5 million units in its first 25 days on the market.
Sure, Move doesn't quite cost £130, but it's currently winning the PS3-360 motion war regardless.
"The number not only shows clear success of the launch of the new motion sensing controller but also indicates positive momentum going in to the holiday season and to the year 2011," Sony said in a press release.
Move launched in Europe and the US in September and in Japan last month. There are currently more than 25 Move supported / dedicated PS3 titles available in Europe.
Your move, MS.
