The voice of Ryo Hazuki, Corey Marshall, has joined the growing voice of fans calling for a proper Shenmue 3 release.
Asked if he'd like to be a part of Shenmue III, the voice actor told fan site Sega Bits he'd "love" to be a part of the series in the future.
"Yes, absolutely. I would love to be a part of Shenmue, just because it's such a great game and I am a huge fan of it," he said.
Interest in the franchise was revitalised recently when series overlord Yu Suzuki announced mobile spin-off Shenmue City.
The pint-sized instalment could continue the main story, but of course it's not the epic, cinematic home console regular we were promised before the series prematurely ended on Dreamcast.
Corey says he's heard of Shenmue City and is "anxious" to see how it turns out.
However, it doesn't sound like he's secretly working on the big budget follow-up we're all hoping for: "I'm currently working on changing my daughter's diapers," he replied when asked what he's up to these days.
Yu Suzuki reiterated during a recent presentation his desire to make a Shenmue 3 that's on par in scope with the first two games.
Sega too has gone on record that it'll never say never where a third game's concerned.
Just do it, Sega. Please.
