Kotick 'not hugely concerned' about The Old Republic

Activision CEO doesn't expect "pretty committed" World of Warcraft players to switch allegiances

Activision Blizzard boss Bobby Kotick has said he isn't overly concerned about EA's Star Wars: The Old Republic tempting World of Warcraft players away.

Asked about the possibility of BioWare's upcoming MMO eating into WoW's 12 million strong subscriber base, the exec said (via Reuters):

"I can't say that we're hugely concerned about that... the audience for World of Warcraft is a pretty committed group of players."

World of Warcraft's third expansion, Cataclysm, launches on December 7, while The Old Republic is due for release by the end of the 2011 calendar year.
