First Grammy nomination for a game song goes to Civ IV

Strategy title's opening theme tune up for an award

Civilization IV's opening theme tune has become the first video game song to receive a Grammy nomination.

The track Baba Yetu, which features the Soweto Gospel Choir, was shortlisted for the Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalists category, Gamasutra reports.

Composer Christopher Tin also received a Grammy nomination for his debut album, Calling All Dawns, which is up for the Best Classical Crossover Album.

The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards take place on February 13, 2011.
