Polish developer and publisher City Interactive has acquired a licence to develop a new first-person shooter using Epic's Unreal Engine 3 technology.
The title is scheduled for release next year and is the second game from City Interactive to be developed using Epic's prolific tech.
"We are committed to developing and publishing high-quality, interactive experiences, and employing the most robust game engines are paramount to achieving that goal," said Marek Tyminski, CEO of City Interactive.
"Licensing Unreal Engine 3 from Epic Games gives us access to one of the most advanced and high-performing video game engines ever created, and one of the most knowledgeable support teams available."
The agreement between Epic and City Interactive has received Mark Rein's seal of approval, the Epic Games VP welcomed City.
"We welcome them to the Unreal Engine 3 development community and look forward to working with them in maximizing the horsepower of our engine." said Rein.
"We're constantly adding to Unreal Engine 3's high-end feature set for PC and console, and we're excited to see City Interactive working with our latest technology," he added.
Epic released a video of the impressive engine in action earlier this year in November.
City Interactive signed a two-game deal with Crytek for its Unreal rival CryEngine in October. Both titles are also due for release next year.
