Bad Company 2: Vietnam 'going head to head with Black Ops' - EA

Publisher has Call of Duty in its crosshairs

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 expansion pack Vietnam was designed to "compete head to head with Call of Duty: Black Ops", according to EA's chief financial officer Eric Brown.

The DLC pack, which launches on December 18 for PC and three days later for PS3 and Xbox 360, features four new multiplayer maps based on the Vietnam war."

As well as 15 Vietnam-era weapons and six vehicles, it'll also feature an unlockable Operation Hastings map.

"Each map brings a new gameplay experience and fresh visuals, with characteristics such as foxholes, tunnels and dense jungles from where the enemy can launch surprise attacks," says EA.

EA CEO John Riccitiello came out all guns blazing on Sunday, saying in no uncertain terms that the publisher plans to make a Call of Duty killer.
