Killzone 4 might not be as far away as you think: Guerrilla Games has admitted that it already has "a lot of ideas" for its next game in the FPS series.
Killzone 3, which releases next month exclusively on PS3 is picking up 9/10 review scores and abundant praise from critics.

"We're looking at new projects," game director Mathijs de Jonge confirmed in the latest issue of the UK Official PlayStation Magazine.
"There's a lot of ideas already floating around the company to put in a new Killzone."
Sony announced earlier this afternoon that the Killzone 3 open beta would kick off on February 3.
Killzone 3 is released for PS3 on February 22 in the US, following a day later in mainland Europe and on February 25 in the UK.

Keep yar pants on Guerrilla. At the end of the day, the 3rd game could completely bunk or explode on home use
1 step at a time. Nobody needs Killzone 2012. Development is good.

Chrissakes are these guys taking the p*ss? I mean let us sample the delights of K3 before even mentioning the fourth...fifth...or sixth installment. It does look damn tasty though and I keep rubbing my Xbox loving nephews' noses in it by telling them it's a Playstation exclusive! Ha!

Hmm, Guerilla made a post on the PS Blog over crimbo stating that they are in fact starting on a new IP already. They did mention also that they have new digs now though and more manpower so could possibly churn both games out...

Cheers Guerrilla - way to announce Killzone 3's ending doesn't resolve the storyline for us before we've even played the damn thing.

I see your point mk; K3's storyline ending leaves the series open for another sequel. What a shocker, who would have seen that coming?
They've ruined the game, let's not bother playing K3, Halo, COD, GoW, Uncharted, Mario, Zelda...err just about every successful franchise

Well, I was under the impression (wrongly, evidentally) that Killzone was a trilogy, like Gears of War or Mass Effect, and the that the third game would wrap things up.
No need for the sarcasm though - I would of course expect Killzone spin-off's and other related games to further the franchise, just like Halo - just not a full blown Killzone 4 being announced before the third game has even been released.

@mkwuk agreed my thoughts exactly

I see what is being said here. If Epic announced they were working on Gears 4 just before Gears 3 was released I'd be p**sed. I thought it was a trilogy. Being told there'll be another = you already it won't have a conclusive end, main characters almost cetainly survive. It kind of makes the story less interesting. Not knowing how it'll end is a large part of the excitement.

Killzone 3 does wrap the story up or so I'm lead to believe, Killzone 4 will most likely be some sort of prequel although I think they will bring out a new IP before we see Killzone 4.

I don't get it. Shouldn't they wait to see what works and what doesn't work with Killzone 3? They might be jumping the gun just a little bit.

I'm sure consumers would be alot happier if the game release date was postponed, and these ideas were implemented into kz3... But what do corporation's care about the consumer?
Unless they are talking about the games storyline, but even then, what would be the point in announcing that?

Ok im a big fan of kill zone i have 1,2, and 3 but, but the thing that i dont understand is, how can u put captain Templar and rico in the 2nd and 3rd killzone but not put Lugar and Haka in at all, they where in the first one, why werent they in the second or third one. Happened to them did Rico kill Haka?
williambuchanan on 11 Sep '11 said:
I have a few ideas myself.
How about Rico being ordered to fight alongside a helgan resistance movement run by visaries daughter?
Then the higs can tell their story, some of them must be sick of being pushed around by a dictator, and the losses. Or just have the option to chose which side to play.

make sure that u can be either isa or helghast cus i hate being isa all the time, on no 1 as templer or rico or haker or luger, on no 2 as thomas sevjanco and on no 3 as the same person, make some new characters or re introduce old characters like haker and also make a remake of no. 1
