Crytek has told us it's exploring the possibility of making a new Timesplitters game.
"Yeah, we have been discussing it, but nothing has been confirmed yet, so let's see after Crysis 2," CEO Cevat Yerli told us.
The last released title in the Free Radical developed FPS series was 2005's TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, but a fourth game was in development before the UK studio went into administration in late 2008.
"I love working with our UK friends," he said. "The team has been performing up to the quality bar easily. Our thinking was that the team had done 80-85 rated games, and we thought that with the right technology, IP and global IP direction they could reach the 90 barrier. I'm very confident that they can do that.
"Today we have around 70 plus team members working on multiplayer only," he added. "That's a huge commitment from our company and was only possible because Free Radical had that capacity and was able to grow quite fast after we took it over."
An Xbox 360 console exclusive multiplayer demo released earlier this week, while an upcoming PC demo was confirmed this morning.

cant believe the same people who made TimeSplitters made Haze which are now working on Crysis. that confused myself

What uniqueness Crysis had originally seems to have been lost with the sequel. Everything I see of it just screams "another FPS" to me. As long as members from the original Free Radical team have involvement, I'm sure TS4 could be something great.

that would be awsome! i spent a ridiculous amount of time with mates playing timesplitters 2. defo up there with goldeneye as the best console fps to play with mates before online came along (obviously not counting pc). but that leads me nicely to my request - a new timesplitters just HAS to have 4-player split screen please!

I'm sure it was the atrocious Haze that sunk the Free Radical ship because after all the hype and development costs - it stank to high heaven. Damn it timesplitters 2 is probably one of the finest fpss ever made. Hell everything free radical made was ace. I even enjoyed Haze( for its story at least)

Time splitters 2 was bloody awsome, i remember playing 4 player getting the speed power up with duel machine guns running around on custom maps to the heavy trance/techno tunes they had on disk destroying my mates, man those were the days!
