Zelda: Skyward Sword launching after Ocarina Of Time 3D - Iwata

The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword may be in the final stage of development but don't expect it to be released for Wii soon. That's the word from Nintendo President Satoru Iwata who recently told investors that the Wii adventure won't be released before Ocarina Of Time 3D launches on 3DS.

Seeing as Nintendo's US boss Reggie Fils-Aime has confirmed that Ocarina Of Time 3D won't be released before early June at the earliest, it could be a while before Skyward Sword hits the shelves. In the investors meeting Iwata spoke about the 25h anniversary of Zelda and what MotionPlus is adding to the game but he didn't give much away regarding the release date.

"One of the Wii titles scheduled to be launched this year is, as you know, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword," said Iwata. "Last year was the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. This year marks the 25th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda.

"Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo told me that he had a strong feeling that the new play control realised by Wii MotionPlus, which is now integrated into our Wii Remote as Wii Remote Plus, could significantly expand the comfort of the game play, especially when used in games like The Legend of Zelda."

He added: "His team is now entering into the final completion stage of the game. Talking about The Legend of Zelda franchise, what people called a masterpiece in the days of Nintendo 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has been in the process of being remade for Nintendo 3DS, and this Nintendo 3DS version is expected to hit the market earlier."

Nintendo has previously suggested that Skyward Sword will only be released when it's perfect.
