Square Enix profits fall 76.6%

Kane and Lynch 2 becomes a million seller

Square Enix has reported a significant drop in sales and earnings for the nine months ended December 31.

Sales came in at 98,183 million yen (£742.3m), down 27.5 percent compared to the first three quarters of the prior year, while profit fell 76.6 percent to 1,821 million yen (£13.8m).

Square said that Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days and Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 became million sellers during the nine month period.

In December, the RPG powerhouse dropped its earnings forecast for the year by 91.7 percent, citing the delay of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and the poor performance of Final Fantasy XIV.
