Shadow mode is go

Capcom has announced details of Marvel Vs Capcom 3 DLC, which will release in March.

The content, dubbed 'Shadow Mode' will allow players to "face-off against custom-built computer opponents modeled after famous players and specific themed teams", according to Capcom.

These would appear to be 'Shadow' AI routines that will mimic the fighting style and decisions of Capcom's best known personalities - a little like ghost modes in racing games.

A series of downloadable packs will be released, each containing three unique teams to battle against, with their own programmed special techniques and preferences.

The first pack will include the team and AI Personality of the game's producer, Ryota Niitsuma, in addition to the Shadow Mode teams for Assistant Producer Akihito Kadowaki and a QA team leader.

More packs will be announced soon, and "may feature some personalities you already know", according to Capcom.

GamesMaster magazine gave the title a 90 percent score in its own Marvel Vs Capcom 3 review this month.

Seems rather bloody pointless. The game should have a training mode pre-DLC anyway. This shadow feature should be included in that. I know Shuma-Gorath and Jill Valentine are DLC add-ons already but I was kinda hoping for more characters, arenas, etc. with DLC, not oversights should've been included in the first place.

This is the reason I'm buying this game in a price drop. I hate when devs clearly take things out of games or hold them back for DLC.

Capcom are one of the worst companies for doing this. It is obvious that they hold stuff back to charge people for them via DLC. Remember the RE5 versus mode? And those stupid costume packs for SF4. I won't be getting this game myself anyway but I fully understand people not being happy about this sort of thing.
