While all the traditional Lego Star Wars gameplay is present and correct, what's got us really excited about The Clone Wars is the promise of giant ground wars.
For the first time, you'll be able to control platoons of War Droids or Clone Troopers and fight a friend, hurling your troops against enemy defences, blowing up vehicles, building bases and even calling in reinforcements.
It sounds like Lego Star Wars has gone all real-time strategy, but don't let that put you off - whenever Lego Star Wars turns its hand to anything, it's always beautifully simple and fun.
BIGGER = BETTER
It seems that everything about Clone Wars is bigger and better. You'll also be able to indulge in 'multi-layered' space battles where you dip and weave through all sorts of orbital combat (you can also explore 16 different star systems in a variety of ships), and there's a focus on big boss battles too, with legendary monsters from the animated series such as Gor and the Zillo Beast making an appearance for you to scrap against.
Of course, all of this would be for nothing without a bunch of new abilities to use, so say hello to Lightsaber Cutting (to carve your own doorways), Lightsaber Throwing and Lightsaber Climbing.
There's also a few new vehicles like the Clone Turbo Tank and Anakin Skywalker's Jedi Interceptor. We're so excited we need a lie down, frankly.

If it retains the developers' trademark humour, too, then it might just be the best. Fingers crossed!

good fun. I remember what a great time I had when I was in my younger years with the first Lego Star Wars on Gamecube.

This 'review' has put me at ease, I was worried the strategy-based elements were going to put me off, I haven't really played strategy games since Command & conquer on the PC in the early 1990's. It seems the 'strategy' elements (or ground-based battles) shouldn't be too complex or dull, and should be more in keeping with the LEGO simple but fun philosophy.
