Black Ops First Strike PS3 date confirmed

DLC 360 exclusivity expires next month

The Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike DLC will be arriving on the PlayStation 3 on March 3.

The map pack launched on Xbox 360 on February 1 and had a period of exclusivity on the console thanks to a deal between Microsoft and Activision for all CoD DLC to have timed exclusivity on 360 until 2012.

First Strike was received rather well by Xbox 360 players at launch although there were reports of the usual camping problems from the off.

If you PS3 peeps want a look at the new pack before you jump in, a video of a new First Strike Zombies map was released at the end of January.

I could not care less if it came out today, I still will not be buying it. We should be getting it for free as a means of an apology. It will be interesting to see how much money they make off of this map pack on PSN but then again all the people who moaned the loudest and called for a boycott will still buy it. I will stick to my guns though.

Just game share it with your mates. £10.99 divided by 5 = £2.20.
thats not bad. Although they still should be free.

Where is the cheapest place to get BLOPS?

I resisted getting MW2 but I now have two friends pestering me to play this with them. Maybe that is the real reason of why it is so popular?

"We BLOPS and we WILL assimilate you!".

It can't be because of the quality or originality of the game... CVG: 9.3/10 my arse.

    I don't mind Black Ops, but I'm afraid I'll be playing Killzone3.

Don't hate CoD but the BLOPS PS3 problems were a complete farce and they should compensate people who had the worst launch experience ever including me! We paid good money for something that was broken. The online experience is better now with 1.06 but 2 months after release is a pi$$ take. Hardly whining more like having a pair and actually making a stand and telling Treyarch they cannot take the pi$$ out of me. I hope you do enjoy them mate but you are the reason why things like this will continue to happen because you are too scared to make a stand. Why reward someone for being bad at what they do? In this case put even more money in their bank accounts. I may pick them up when they are cheaper but I will probably be over BLOPS by then.

Ps3 blops still is a joke for many people with frame rate issues, inferior resolution to 360 and the ongoing lag issues( affects 360 too , I sold ps3 version and got 360 , which worked great for two weeks till last patch, then became unbearable, with me dying before I'd seen people continuously )

So I sold it , kept my 1200 ms points and won't buy an activision game again

I have all the COD map packs I'll need. The first one is called Modern Warfare, then the other two are called World at War and Modern Warfare 2.

If you're listening Activision, too much of a good thing can be bad for you. Well I've over-eaten on COD and I'm done for this overworked 4 year old game engine. Put some proper work back in and I might come back for fourths! In the mean time I'll be playing KZ3, can't wait.

I think you kind of lose your point when asking Activison to put some more work into COD and come up with something new when you then go say that you're looking forward to playing one of the most generic FPS franchises in Killzone; that other than graphical prowess brings nothing new to the table really. Neither games are exactly pushing the boundaries of gaming, but both can be fun with the right people.

They have definitely missed a trick here and the exclusivity deal to MS will definitely cost them ps sales (maybe they don't care)
I have really enjoyed BLOPS but with KZ3 releasing before the new maps I only have place for one fps on the go at any one time = kz3!

I'll happily say I've bought all the previous map packs for COD4 and MW2 but I will not be buying this. The way Black Ops has played for me and my friends in large clans since day 1 has been awful with constant connection issues or 1 person not connecting.Beacause of this I havent played black ops since the last patch which didnt improve anything that I could see.
Shame, becuase I quite like the game. But its Battlefield all the way for me now and role on BF3!!!!!!

I don't think you quite get me, at no point did I mention anything about KZ3 not being generic. My point was that COD while very good has been using the same game engine four years running for 4 different games. This will most likely turn in to 5 later this year! GG for Killzone have at least invested a good amount of development time between KZ2 and 3 which really shows as the two are like night and day in comparison in how they feel. They obviously want each game to improve to invest more time and money back in to the franchise. Activision on the other hand struck gold with MW and have been very poor in investing time in to anything other than map updates.

Can anyone point out the basics of game sharing? I did it once with a WAW map pack but I couldn't access it a few days after. Is that because he changed his password, which is what he was going to do anyway seeing as he sent me his log in details, or something else? I haven't tried it since.

Never played COD till black ops on ps3, was disgusted with the way it ran(frame rate, resolution and lag), bought it eventually on 360(second hand so activision didnt get money, as was still angry at ps3 owners treatment) thinking that underneath i thought there was a good game waiting to be played. Ran beautifully for two weeks, then came latest patch and unbearable lag and unfair deaths galore (my favourite being that someone looking other way whilst u shoot them with entire clip and somehow still die in one shot whilst they facing opposite direction)
I watched my brother play mw2 flawlessly for a year(odd minor issue of course0 then came the hackers and ruined that game completely, but technically it still runs amazingly.

I had bought 1200 ms points off Amazon for £9 and luckily didnt get round to buying maps before the issues started for me. I promptly have traded blops, and am going to use points elsewhere.

I point blank refuse to give my money again to Activision after the treatment of ps3 owners, and 360 owners too tbh. The denial of issues, the pathetic initial ps3 port, the attempts to milk ps3 owners despite not arresting the issues that still exist. Id rather take a risk on a smaller franchise that shows some imagination, and has clearly put in the time, money and effort in producing a quality title

I've played COD since the 2nd one and its had a great run but this COD has been a major dissapointment. They've made no real attempt at the PS3 version but they seem to think we'll still buy this. No thanks. The 1st Modern Warfare was the daddy but nothing special has really happened since then. So for me its time to move on. I've been playing the Killzone 3 beta even after reading these so called reviews and I'm loving it. I honestly didn't think it would be all that great but its fantastic. Didn't enjoy the 2nd one much but they've really made an effort with this so i'll be puttin the hard earned cash towards this. Plus I'm really buzzing about Crysis 2.

  22. kirankara on 10 Feb '11 said:

have u ever played crysis 2 demo ? i did on 360 and its god awful, was more frustratingly laggy than blops and the controls sucked cause of response lag, hopefully they sort it out as it has potentil, but as it stood, it wasnt worth getting ecited about, in mp at least

Don't think I'll be getting this as the Map Pack MP maps usually suck.

I've done my fair share of moaning about getting ripped off as a PS3 owner of Black Ops. I tried the game last night for the first time since December and it actually played perfectly. No disconnections or freezing, so maybe Treyarch has finally sorted the game out. This is how the game should have played from day one. For it to take 2-3 months to sort out is really ridiculous. So for this reason i feel i should stay away from the map pack downloads.
