Blizzard has once again spoken of its 'investigation' into a Diablo release for consoles.
Speaking at DICE yesterday, Blizzard Entertainment CEO Mike Morhaime said: "I think you could make an argument that a game like Diablo might play very well on a console," according to Joystiq.
"It's something that we're actually doing an investigation into to see if that could make sense," he added, while pointing out that Blizzard prefers the PC platform due to its flexibility.
He went on to explain that a "number of issues" would need to be overcome for Blizzard's games to arrive on console, particularly regarding the ability to release patch updates effectively and large game expansions.
Morhaime was asked if Diablo would be the most fitting of Blizzards' games to release on consoles, to which he responded with a positive nod.
This concurs with statements from Blizzard's official site last year, which confirmed the dev was "exploring a Diablo-related concept for consoles", although it promised that this would not "delay or affect the release of the [PC] game" whatsoever.
