Earlier this week the face of Sony PlayStation's marketing campaign Kevin Butler accidentally promoted Geohot's infamous PS3 jailbreak code - thanks to a Battleships-related misunderstanding on Twitter.
Now Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb, director of programming for the Microsoft gaming network Xbox Live, has gotten cheeky about Sony's fictional marketing man.
Hryb yesterday posting a tweet which read: "Anyone up for a game of battleship ? ;)".
Not be the most professional thing to do, granted. But that doesn't mean it hasn't raised a titter.

Sony's Kevin Butler fired back by releasing its own chart in which it compared Microsoft's Kinect peripheral to a hoop and stick.
1-1, it would seem. Game on.

Oh Major Nelson you wiley cad the hilarity of it all. If being a major doesn't work out there's always that career in stand up comedy. Haha "Anyone up for a game of battleship ?
" it's the way he tells em, and the winky was genius *claps* keep it real Larry.

I'd still say Kevin Butler's original comment was funnier. The double meaning (intentional or not) was far better.
If he'd said something like "Anyone up for a game of Battleships or couldn't you 'hack' losing?" that'd have been better. Not much better mind, but better.

I follow The Major and a few other Gaming folks on Twitter and saw this already, just a bit of tongue in cheek banter really. Nothing to write home about.
Now, Cliff B's take on why Bulletstorm was created was a lot funnier and and would be certain to cause Fanboys to go into a rage
.

Anyone in this thread want some sugar to go with their lemons?

Gotta love a company who shows all their cards first, right? ...No.
Microsoft don't need to show any games so early on in the year, they know when they release them -- they'll be enough interest then. They dont need to secure peoples hopes so early

No sugar for me i'm already sweet enough
. I'd love a lime instead of a lemon though, anything that's green is fantastic and better than the rest hmmm lem & lime cold drink.

Not as bad as Cliffy B's tweet yesterday, it said The real reason Bulletstorm was built was because Gears wasn't ready for this spring and we needed a product to f*ck with Killzone.
Now that's stirring it up.

Don't a lot of people have access to that twitter account?
I honestly doubt it was actually KB that did it.
