Current pre-paid Nintendo Points cards won't be compatible with the 3DS.
Points cards play home to a virtual currency that Nintendo players can spend on the Wii and the DS, but if you were hoping to use leftover points with the 3DS, prepare for your hopes to be dashed.
Nintendo's Japanese site says: "Prepaid Nintendo point cards cannot be used with the Nintendo 3DS. Prepaid point cards that can be used with the 3DS will go on sale at a later date."
Of course, you'll still be able to use your old 2D points as usual for DSiWare and WiiWare.
Earlier this week, Street Fighter head Yoshinori Ono said that he's as excited about the 3DS as he was about the Dreamcast launch. That means "very", by the way.
