Edge has kicked its Marvel vs Capcom 3 review into touch, and it's ultimately a good showing for the comic book beat 'em up.
The mag gives the game 7 out of 10, saying that while it doesn't have the longevity and depth of what are considered the genre's greatest, it does have the potential to "enchant even the most jaded fight fan".
The mag praises the art team for managing to take Capcom fighting veterans like Ryu and Chun-Li and make them into iterations of the characters in their own right rather than just "cheap imitators".
However, more generally, the mag criticises the stages themselves, saying they "become tiresome, and the lack of meaningful rewards suggest Capcom may be banking on the ever-alluring money pit of DLC to bolster sales".
Developments today suggest that Marvel vs. Capcom 3 could already have DLC on the disc just waiting to be released.
