Codemasters has confirmed that Operation Flashpoint: Red River will be out on PS3, 360 and PC on April 21 in UK and April 26 in US.
The follow up to Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising was announced last summer, and is set ever so slightly in the future around "contemporary geopolitical themes" over three acts in both single player and drop-in-drop-out co-operative play for up to four players online.
New additions to the series will include a deeper narrative-led campaign a streamlined inventory and control system, refined enemy and squad AI systems, player class roles including customisable XP upgrades and loadout choices, close-quarters combat, new air support options and comprehensive tutorials.
According to GameSpot, the 10-mission campaign will be playable by up to four players, and it will also pack a separate skirmish mode for PvP scenarios and a Firefight-style survival setting with players tackling increasing waves of enemies.
