New Homefront gameplay footage has hit the internet. Here it is.
In case you're none the wiser, the THQ FPS is based around a united Korean invasion on US soil and puts players in the boots of resistance fighters.
The videos show all the usual FPS hallmarks and the second includes some slow-mo stabbing.
Have a look at the newest Homefront trailer, which was released last week, if you haven't already.

Well i cant say im blown away by that. I would have thought they'd of put out something a little more impressive. It looks very run-of-the-mill stuff

I dont think it could be any more like COD if it tried. The font used for objective updates even looks eerily similar. Nevermind, only a week until KZ3

I was hoping for something a little less linear

I don't think much of the grenade throw animation, looks like you gaily wave at the enemy. Cooooo-eeeeee!

Dont be so assumptious based on 2 minutes of short video... anyway, still picking this up based on what I have seen and read.
People are like "so battlefield, this is so COD!" ... pretty hard to change it up without being seriously wayward (brink). And, homefront have changed it up considerably. Visual isnt everything.

I dont see how this has "changed up" at all. Looks the same trodden path, but without the realistic in-game cinematics. Case in point COD4 = Helicopter scene. (I can't believe I'm sticking up for COD!)
Anything we've seen like that? No... just generic run and gun stuff. FPS normal war (except BF!) has been done to death for me...
Since playing Amnesia: The Dark Descent, FP games need to up theirs, make an experience and grip you from start to finish. There are too many games where I get bored because its the same scene, same 'try to make you jump, but doesn't' triggers, same feel and importantly, the same trudge from A to B.
If games companies want me to shell out £40+ on launch day, they need to raise the bar. Gaming is now more experiential than ever. Alot of companies focus on graphics, but almost completely forget ambience, tension, drama, invoking feelings and emotion, etc.... That to me makes it worth shelling out such a big chunk of monthly wages

I'm still interested in it for the story/concept as much as anything. I also suffer less of the 'it's another COD clone blah blah blah' because I don't play every FPS that comes out so I don't have the same synicism as others on here

Well, that was underwhelming, in my opinion.
The graphics looked a bit rough and bland even when played at 720p. The AI came across as dire; ex. When the player shoots two guards on the far side of the road - a tactical mistake btw; you shoot the hostile targets closest to you first - the other two guards closest to you just keep on patrolling despite the loud crack of semi-automatic gunfire. They don't even respond until they come under fire and one of them is dead!
These in-game videos have only served to reaffirm my decision to wait until I can read some user reviews of the game, and a price drop has taken place. Even then this game is a "maybe" purchase for me.

I hear good things about the story but...it's an FPS about war. I've been playing those for the last four years and they aren't changing in the slightest. This looks...the same.

Looks alright, and thats about it...cant see any reason why the MP will be better than CODs tho..
