Microsoft has announced a September 20 global release date for Epic's Gears of War 3.
The third person shooter was originally due to launch in April 2011, but its launch was pushed back until the autumn.
Epic said earlier this week that there'll be multiple ways to gain entry to the Gears 3 beta.

I wouldnt worry altitude, am prity sure Microsoft has something else out for winter but so far Forza, Gears and Kinect games. Lookin good for 360 owners this winter and i didnt even mention the 3rd party titles

I was thinking along those lines (10th anniversary and all), but it depends on what shape this Halo game takes. If it's just a HD enhanced version (GoW Collection) of CE, then I'd doubt Microsoft would make a massive fuss about it and move titles like Gears/Forza around to make room for it. A complete current gen remake however, then I'd say it's Halo for November for sure.

Hopefully you don't need to keep the disc to get in the beta because I'm going to play it for a week or until I get wind of the first price drop, then put it straight on a Gamestation gift card priced matched with CEX. I will then have 30-32 quid towards Homefront on the 11th.

So this will be a nice completion, all I need do is pick up Gears 1 again. It's definitely one of the most enjoyable series and exclusive to this gen is nice too.
Anyone know when we can expect news on the beta anywhere without having to buy Bulletstorm?? I'm gonna get Crysis 2 I think so can't afford Bulletstorm too.

It's only after a long Gears 2 break that you re-look forward to Gears 3. Gears 2 is a cracking game, big dumb fun. I have played it through about 4 times and each time I say it's my last. But there's something addictive about it. If 3 is anywhere near as good as 2, that Xbox purchase will have been worth it.
