Motorstorm Apocalypse demo confirmed for PS3, new video gets destructive

'Wreckreation' mode detailed

Sony has confirmed that a Motorstorm Apocalypse demo is on the way to PS3, whilst profiling the game's destructive Wreckreation mode in a blistering new dev diary.

UK studio Evolution is busy working on Apocalypse, and discusses new challenges, customisation options and more in the below video.

The firm hasn't given any date for the demo's arrival, but promises: "Dates are very close to confirmation - it needs to be tested around the world just like the full game - but if you've seen any glimpses of a track called Mainline, you'll have a good idea of what to expect. As soon as we have a date we'll share it." Nice.

Check out our latest hands-on with the game here. It's sounding very promising indeed - particularly in 3D.

Head over to the Motorstorm Apocalypse hub, represent CVG in a Motorstorm tournament and be in with a chance to win a trip to E3. The competition closes on March 3, 2011.

MotorStorm Apocalypse is released on March 18 in the UK and April 12 in the US.

This looks sick! The graphics are sweet obviously (PS3 exclusive)

It may well be my first racing game I buy at day of release, I love anything apocalyptic.

It's also nice to see a good English developer going strong. I'm not sure what the sales for other Motorstorm games were but maybe this should of been multi plat, it would double their turnover and keep them safe from closure. I'd prefer to see any game go multi plat than loose another developer.

They have sold a couple of million I think but there bankrolled by Sony (first party) so I doubt they will go down the pan or see them on 360. Game looks amazing, pacific rift was crazy in 3D so this is only going to be better.

Well both ps3 games have sold about 4.5 million together worldwide, of which 3.5 million was the first game. Hopefully the demo comes out soon because i really want to play this game now.

That doesn't sound good the second games sales plummeted, maybe it was released in crowded window or just at the wrong time. Hopefully this does well.

Pacific rift was a let down, multiplayer was rubbish with catch up switched on constantly.

I didn't get around to playing online but the single player was terrific. Early impressions of the game weren't great but as I continued I got hooked. There were some good challenges as well, such as trying to defeat the developers lap times.

I still own the first 2 games in the series on PS3 and Arctic Edge on PSP, as I find them quite decent. Had some awesome split screen races on Pacific Rift with my 2 kids.

Hopefully they can better the game with the new stuff they have put in, but in all honesty, it's not something that hasn't been done before in other games of the same/different genre. I just hope it suits the game and doesn't ruin it in any way.

Ye loved the first, The first is one of my fav all time racers and i felt more fulfilled at launch with this title than Resistance. I liked the second but didnt feel the love i had for the first.

Am actually not shocked aba the second sales because i only got it when i seen it on the shelf i was like f**k when did that come out and am usually great with my release dates

Really cant wait for the 3rd think it looks amazin and since Split/Second and Blur kinda lost its online players am sure this will fulfill my OTT racing needs.... Plus i still have Modnation lol

I think the 1st did well because it was the only decent game for the PS3 when the PS3 came out so you would expect it to do well.

the second one was ok but the com was cheating pos.

Looks great and will definitely buy this but, now that a rilogy has been completed, any chance Evolution could return to what they did best..a proper PS3 WRC game? Milestone just don't have the resources to do the license justice and the current WRC game looks worse than Evolution's WRC4 on PS2!
