Crysis 2 PS3 multiplayer demo in two weeks

Crytek confirms playable treats for US PS3 owners

A Crysis 2 multiplayer demo will be release for US PS3 owners on March 15, Crytek's Nathan Camarillo has confirmed.

News comes via our man at an EA event currently in progress in San Francisco.

This will finally bring PS3 players up to speed with Xbox peeps, who got their first slice of Crysis 2's multiplayer servings in January.

The Xbox multiplayer demo featured the 'Skyline' map and two game modes, 'Team Instant Action' (team deathmatch) and 'Crash Site'. The PS3 demo is believed to be exactly the same.

The announcement was restricted to US, with no word on a UK date for the demo, although fingers crossed it'll be around the same time.

...and friends ask me why i bothered making an American PSN account! For things just like this!*

Having played the crysis demo on all maxed out dopey resolution madness on the PC I must admit as pretty as the game is its still as generic as can be and made very little impact on the whole super duper PC gaming scene. So have to say I am not intersted in this game at all. Its utter crap to put it plainly.

Cool, they deserve to have the demo, otherwise some of them might buy it.

Played it on PC today, it was a steaming pile of mediocrity- when you could actually log in to play it.

Seriously, I think this poor demo will cripple sales of the game, at least on PC. Definitely off my wish list.

    I like that :)

I hope they release a UK demo because I want to download both versions and play around and see if I can spot a difference. imo they've already alienated their selves in terms of some sales by not giving a PS3 demo in the first place. On top of no demo there is insulting of one of PS3 owners best looking shooter, saying how Crysis2 in alpha stage looked better than Killzone. Although no walk to back up the talk ever materialised, this bold claim got put to bed after we seen the 360 version (which will be a little better) analysed in depth. It was made to look like a jag-fest in side by side screen comparison.

I'll be playing Homefront if it's good so I'm going to leave Crysis until it's 25 quid pre-owned :P

It's funny how many people's wish-lists this game was on, only for them to play the demo and take it off. I'm the same. I was really looking forward to this, believing (because I've never played the PC original) that Crysis was something to get really excited about, but I actually turned the demo off on my second play because I was plain bored. I'll get the game eventually for the single player but I'm afraid it'll be *dares to say it* preowned...

What with reports of Homefront feeling sluggish, I think March belongs to Dragon Age II for me. Now I was not expecting to be saying that a few months ago...

Based on my experience of crysis 2 on 360, ps3 owners not missing much . I'll still try it on ps3 though. Kz3 looks better hands down, with crysis looking bit rough although it has great lighting.what really let's it down though is the unresponsive controls and bad hit detection( both of which may partly be due to the horrible lag at times)

Game has potential to be fun , no doubt, but isnt the all conquering graphical showpiece they talked about, and if they tighten up the issues with lag and hit detection, there's original and regreshing tactical elements to it that set it apart from rest of crowd . If not, then I'll buy it half price for sp.
