Netflix confirmed for 3DS in 'summer'

Video streaming service headed to Nintendo's portable

Nintendo has confirmed that Netflix will be available via 3DS 'this summer'.

Netflix is a US-only video streaming service with thousands of movies and recent TV shows - many newer ones in HD - that can be watched instantly via some pretty nifty streaming.

Netflix is already available to US Wii consoles, and will work much the same way on 3DS. A base Netflix subscription costs $7.99 a month, and there's no further fee for using it on multiple devices, meaning you can sign in and watch shows on your PC, Wii and 3DS (and other devices you may have) with no issue.

Netflix broadcasts are in 2D, so it's safe to assume they will only be playable in 2D on the 3DS.

Nintendo today also revealed the new 3D Super Mario game headed to 3DS with four awesome-looking screenshots.
