Crystal Dynamics has released new screenshots for Tomb Raider Trilogy, the upcoming PS3 compilation that gives a few older Lara Croft adventures an HD makeover.

As expected, the HD shots look a lot sharper, with more visible details on character models and much better lighting.
In some cases the environments have also been changed slightly to introduce fresh eye-candy such as Aztec architecture or new mountainous terrain.
Square Enix has confirmed Tomb Raider Legend, Anniversary and Underworld will be available in the pack, which is scheduled to hit the US on March 22 and the UK three days later.

The PS3 Legend screenshot looks like the 5 year old Legend on PC, with shader model 3 support turned on. Anniversary looks better, mostly because they shipped it without SM3 back in 2007.

It's nice to have 'em on PS3, I think they were great quality games, thoroughly enjoyed all of Crystal Dynamics Tomb Raider outings. But I have them all for PC anyway. I hope they improve Underworld on the PS3, that one had some crummy slowdown in HDR-lit areas.

I really enjoyed Legend and Anniversary, would definitely like to play them again. Underworld however I didn't like at all. Still, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

If it didn't have the 'PS2' & 'PS3' labels under the pictures i may have even struggled to guess which was which. When playing the game the difference will be massive, but those screenshots look very similar.

I don't know why they didn't release the PC version of Anniversary with the 'next-gen' graphics.
