Yakuza of the End delayed, Disaster Report 4 cancelled

Publishers react to Japan disaster

Understandably, Japanese publishers have confirmed that a number of game releases will be delayed following the last week's earthquake disaster.

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan announced earlier today that the Japanese release of Motorstorm 3, which was scheduled for release on March 17, is now TBA.

Sega has also revealed the release Yakuza Of The End is now also TBA, citing "various circumstances" as the reason for the delay.

Capcom has also delayed the release of DLC characters Jill and Shuma-Gorath for Marvel vs. Capcom 3, though it is not clear if this is also the case for the US and Europe.

Japanese developer and publisher Irem went one step further and has announced it has outright cancelled Disaster Report 4. Disaster report 4 was to feature an earthquake that destroys a city as one of the game's main playable scenarios. It was fully playable and close to release.

Japanese publishers have begun announcing campaigns and donations to support relief efforts in the country.

Just a warning to anyone that wants to post the usual jokes that fly around during this type of disaster, the first person to post one, will be banned instantly.

Sure, I have got loads of these jokes sent to me via text message over the weekend, but in the end, it's not an ideal situation where anyone is concerned. My heartfelt condolences go out to all concerned in Japan during this time of need. I also hope that they overcome this disaster and get themselves back to some sort of normality, sooner, rather than later.

I'm not too fussed about Yakuza of the end, isn't it just a zombie shooter?

It's a shame Disaster Report 4 is cancelled (I love playing Disaster Report/SOS: Final Escape, Raw Danger sucks and DR3 is PSP only) but I understand why, out of curiosity which console was it being released on?

I still have SOS: Final Escape and Disaster: Day of Crisis for if I want my major disaster's fix (no it's not a joke towards/about Japan, I love disaster movies/games).

It's a bad time for japan (probably the worst disaster they've had since WWII), my heart goes out to them all.

I do think this incident in Japan is horrific and you can't even begin to imagine what they are going through first hand. I think, which applies to China also, that maybe it's nature fighting back, you know... for literally wiping species out. Japanese slaughter wail after wail and Chinese have and will continue to wipe out the few tigers left on the earth, for what? to research the wails then flog the meet at some market and Kill the tigers to flog it's skin as a rug or coat and make magical Chinese medicine?

This is not a joke, it doesn't even come close to a joke as there isn't anything in the slightest funny about the situation, It's just my opinion.

    Edit:
I would just like to make it crystal clear I do not or have not thought or think Japan deserves these terrible times that have been forced upon them, regardless of my view on what they do as a country.

I do apologize if this post has offended anyone but it is my view and I stand by it.

Thats quite a thing to cancel a finished game due to recent events, my hat goes off to them.

They might release Disaster Report 4 at some point, I know they've cancelled it due to the horrific disaster but they could revive it in the future or something, Sony didn't scrap Motorstorm Apocalypse (unless they do now).

It's a shame it was cancelled as it sounded pretty good, it was due to be released on the ps3 with 3d and move support, but I fully understand and resoect their decision, even though I would've loved to play it, it's not worth getting upset over.

As I said on another topic's forum, I'm sure we gamers can tolerate some delays and/or cancellations, considering what these poor people are going through.

Given whats going on in Japan I find it offensive that you would akin these events to some sort of Karma ... Sorry but thats just wrong. That in some way because Japan and China does certain things they deserve this .. They dont

oh and its 'Whales' not 'wails' .. where did you learn english?

Okay... That is your view.. and I have mine...

I learned English at the same place as everyone else in England, it's common sense, have you got any?

I know that was a dumb spelling mistake and noticed it soon after but I generally don't edit a post due to a spelling mistake, I think it's funny to see if someone wastes their time pointing it out.
