EA has just unleashed a brand new gameplay trailer for Battlefield 3. It's pretty spectacular. Take a look below.
The video is called "Fault Line: Episode 2 Good Effect" and features some earth-shattering physics effects - as well as some scrabbling about on rooftops. Oh, and plenty of destruction.

DICE has called out its rivals in the latest OPM, claiming "our competitors are getting lazy... they had better watch out. We are coming for them."
The studio's general manager, Karl Magnus Troedsson, has added that the developer regrets its past neglect of the PC community, and that it's intent on making it up with Battlefield 3.
CVG saw the game running at GDC earlier this month, and it's shaping up to be very special indeed.

Yip, it certainly looks rather Fantastic but as I have no intention of buying myself a big fancy rig, ill wait until I see the console versions before getting too carried away!

The PC version looks great, I'm guessing the console versions will look nothing like it. Which is a shame.

Looks great! Dynamics are a bit off though. If he could shoot the masonry that they crawled behind then he could "pop" them when they were sat up above the masonry at the end of the crawl! Or maybe I'm just an ACE sniper lol.

Looks fantastic, only one quibble the FOV looks v. narrow, makes it look like you've got blinkers on, adjustable?

All of the destruction looks scripted in this trailer. Theres a bit on Killzone 2 where you shoot a building with a turret and pieces fall off. This only looks marginally better than that.

Agreed - we already know that it's gonna be scaled down although to what extent no-one knows.
If it's got the graphics of pacman on the consoles then it's a no-go for me

Best looking game I've ever seen. Gutted I sold my rig, hope the console versions look half as good.

It looks great, but it annoys me because it won't look anything like this on the consoles.

I'll definitely be enjoying the PC version of this. The end of this year is going to be crazy with the amount of great games being released

Dice said the graphics were thanks more to the new engine than any fancy hardware and that any scaling down on console would be minor.
I'll believe it when I see it though.

Are you mental? Do you know nothing about this game or the Bad Company games or the Frostbite engine? You can chip away at any building on the map and eventually bring it down.
altitude2k on 16 Mar '11 said:
In fairness, while destruction is touted as a big part of Frostbite I reckon you'll still see a lot of scripted destruction in the single player. The only way to tell, really, is to get hold of the game and fire a rocket at a different location on the hotel to see if it causes the same damage.

Hehe Carl Gustav with extra ammo perk WAS my sniper rifle in BCBC2.
The lighting in BF3 looks amazing tho, I watched it over and over again while giggling like a school girl!

That section looks very heavily scripted, and while it might look very nice in that video I bet it' boring as f**k to play. essentially you've spent three minutes walking and stopping and waiting for the AI team mates to move.
I'd be very surprised if that was an actual AI sniper taking shots at you rather than a scripted event where it fires a bullet at a specific piece of scenery when you cross point A.
The proof will be in the playing and I've got now doubt the over all package will be great
