Treyarch hasn't ruled out the creation of Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2, but is remaining coy on whether a direct sequel to last year's smash hit may become a reality.
CoD: Black Ops shattered sales records set by Infinity Ward's CoD: Modern Warfare 2, whilst a third MW game is expected to be announced next month.
However, Treyarch is yet to build its own CoD sub-series, having released CoD: World At War and Black Ops in the last three years. But with the huge success enjoyed by its latest outing, it would appear to make sense for publisher Activision to continue the BLOPS series.
He added: "We're so happy with Black Ops - it was incredible. Everyone hoped it would have this kind of success. We all knew how well MW2 did [in 2009], breaking all entertainment records, so the fact that Black Ops broke through it for a second year in a row and reset that record was incredible. We're still really glad that we hit the ground with the DLC when we finished the game, because we knew we wanted to get it back out there."
US sales monitor NPD announced last month that Call Of Duty: Black Ops had become the best-selling game of all time, shifting 13.7 million units in the States alone.
Treyarch released BLOPS map pack First Strike in February for a hefty 1200 MSP on Xbox 360.
So, readers... who'd be up for Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 - and who'd rather Treyarch start something from scratch once again?

I'd much rather a pace for change each year and go back to WWII, where you'd fight as a squad in an army, rather than some special operatives team that take down terrorists (which almost always happen to be russian).

Call of Duty 1 and 2 are still my favourite games from the series. I also quite liked Medal of Honor Airborne, had they spent some more time working on it I believe it could have been great.
Right now I'd really love to see another WWII game go back to the Normandy beach landing stories. The Omaha beach level in MOH Allied Assault was amazing in its day, but with the tech they have now I think they could do real justice by it.

i reckon it would be quite cool (and different) to have an fps set during that time and you could make a great story out of it -the boston tea party, the founding fathers, the birth of the marine corps, the use of slavery, the native americans and their role - theres plenty to make a crackin computer game story from.

Admittedly, yes, WW2 does have it's perks and there is still plenty of untouched ground. CoD 3 for example gave us a Polish campaign and a Canadian campaign which were both enjoyable.
And going back to the Napoleonic era would be a bad mistake for CoD. It wouldn't exactly be a high intensity shoot out. It would go

Black Ops campaign isn't the most ground breaking story out there but apart from The Darkness (excellent imo) what other shooter has? If you want story go play Fallout NV, Uncharted2 or SplinterCell Conviction.
I've said before and I'll say it again, no developer are offering a fast paced, balanced, decent looking, 60fps shooter where there's always people online and constant support. Yes 3arch have supported Blops like no other CoD has been, it's not the only one that's had teething problems either.
Personally there is no other fps I look forward to more than CoD, it's the same for many people although a lot who slag it and moan they prefer MW2 is because they don't like getting KS's with their gun. At least when you get a chopper in Blops you fell like you've earned it. In MW2 you can get an ass-clapper 130 just by getting a predator. I know it promotes camping a little more but I prefer it this way, over-powered players aren't as powerful.

I like a game with a bit of history about it, even BLOPS feels modern to an extent. I really hope Treyarch start fresh and make a NEW game and don't continue the story where they left off and by the looks of it, i'm not the only one who thinks this.

I'd like something different, a shooter game where you play the "baddie". We love games like infamous where we can choose to be evil so why not a shooter? Kinda like Postal but just, more story and less anarchistic messing around.
Imagine a game where you played the Nazi's or like a homefront sequel where you played as North Korea, a shooter with some of the real "choices" that you get in Heavy Rain, choices that really make you think...s**t, do I kill this guy or just let him go?

I think they did a great job, it wasnt perfect but they ahve seemed to iron out most of the initial problems, keep up the good work and look forward to BO 2 if it happens, please DONT give us a another boring WW2 game

Look at COD 4, there was less guns equipment, etc which made a more quality MP than the 3 COD's since have not yet surpassed.
There is also Wager matches, Zombies, combat training, theatre mode, and the two hidden mini games. Some stuff just has to go, so the MP is better and the SP is longer. Also this content may have equated to value for money, but it is not all quality. The only thing I want more of is MP maps.

Bullet/shot recognition (or whatever you want to call it). Most of the times that I am killed on that game it's when I run into a building or behind a wall and 2 seconds AFTER I run into cover I die. I watch the killcam and the final shot is fired before I get behind cover, however on my screen I was already out of site before I died. I think people need to be more connected I guess when playing online. In MW2 I never had that problem. Plus, I get a lot of kills by stupid things like seeing people clothes or feet even sticking slightly out of the wall. I know they are there due to this, so it is an easy kill that they have no way of defending themselves against. Another thing is lag. Lag is unreal for me on Black Ops. I've always had problems and with MW2 I never did. It always ran smoothly. I think the biggest thing however, is graphics. I was playing with a guy the other night and he was talking about BF3, and how BF3 was a REAL war game, and that CoD is just an arcade game, and he is totally right. I want Treyarch to heavily step it up this time if B.O. 2 goes through, otherwise I won't buy it. For me, the hype over Black Ops was a lot better than the game itself. If Treyarch fixes those petty things, then hot damn I'll buy it.
Also, why in hell do they keep releasing new map packs for B.O.???? It's so annoying. I think they should quit it with the maps, and release a GUN pack instead. I want the MP40, dammit.

The MW series is incredibly horrid compared to the productions of Treyarch.
