Epic Games says it's expecting a million Xbox 360 owners to join in with the Gears of War 3 multiplayer beta when it launches later this month.
Access to the Xbox Live trial, which is set to kick off for Gold subscribers on April 25, can be gained by pre-ordering Gears 3 from GAME or Gamestation in the UK.

But according to exec producer Rod Fergusson, although the beta will be broadly available to 360 owners, Epic's "not trying to set any records" in terms of the amount of users participating in the tryout.
He told CVG: "I don't know if we necessarily have a target but our expectation is around the one million range - that's what we're thinking.
"We're not trying to set any records, we're not trying to beat anybody for highest number of players on a beta," he said. "We're just trying to get enough data to help us make a better game."
As we previously revealed, the beta will include three new game modes and four maps, all running on dedicated servers.
"We're going to have dedicated servers around the world and it's going to be broadly available," said Fergusson. "But as I said, for us it's about getting enough players playing enough matches over enough time that we can actually learn from it and make changes."

This has the potential to be the highlight of my gaming year!
It's the most brutal, hardcore MP known to man.
Please epic, just don't mess it up like gears 2.
And if it could be faster like gears 1 MP as well, with no stupid shot delay after rolling or roadie running, the community would love you. Thanyou!
See you at the end of the month!
