Mass Effect fans have previously complained of being exposed to too many spoilers ahead of the launch of a new entry in the series, but that shouldn't be the case with Mass Effect 3.
Writing on the BioWare forums (via NeoGAF), the studio's Jarrett Lee teased: "I've seen the stuff in store for you guys in Mass Effect 3. Be excited, be very excited.
"Also, other than the attack on Earth, I think we'll try harder this time not to spoil things for you. By the time the game ships you'll be mad about the lack of story info ;).

He added: "It seems though that if we don't say enough about story, people jump to negative conclusions quickly. At any time, we'll keep a lid on stuff."
The first proper Mass Effect 3 details arrived today via US retailer mag Game Informer.

It's ironic, I'm actually inclined to not buy any magazine that features Mass Effect 3 inside for this very reason. I don't want to know anything about it until I get to play it for myself.

Mass Effect spoilers!? I read that as elements of the sequel that ruined it! Namely; the loss of worthwhile purchaseable items, the planet scanning, loss of secondary combat and exploratory means (ie. driving!), the loss of micro-managing weapons and armour, oh yeah, and the s**te story! They were spoilers for me.

That's good,
At least they won't be mouthing off the Game Informer about specific story details
Oh wait.......

ME2 was alright, though one spoiler I would like explained is WTF the BIG BOSS at the end of ME2 was all about. Though it sounds like ME3 will be trying to hit the sweet-spot between ME1 & ME2 so sounds hopefull.
I still maintain for ME3 that Planet Scanning with 3D TV Support and a Kinnect would be ace....though still totally boring!
Come On Bioware, listen to some of my ideas!
And as for spoilers I'm figuring that everyone picking up ME3 will already know/own ME1 & ME2 so there can't be that much to spoil anyways....

I just LOL'd at this....
Game Informer seems to be getting some great exclusives - does anyone know if it's possible to get it in the UK?

Good news - we knew basically the entire intro of ME2 before it shipped along with profiles on almost every team-mate.
Enough people are hyped for 3 that they don't need to show their hand on every detail now.

But they've already stated that the Reapers are on their way and that this is the final part of the trilogy! And that Shepard's in it. It's already ruined! Ruined I say!

Me too but it's gonna be tough to stay away from any ME3 news. I've just read the Game Informer story, it's like a drug, once you get some you need that little bit more.

I'm getting close to the point where I won't read any more ME3 stories just to make sure I avoid any spoilers. I didn't really want to know about Earth being attacked, to be honest.
By the way, anyone else not able to bring themselves to play though the games more than once? I know its mental, but as much as I'd like to replay both games to see what different decisions lead to it would feel like a dilution of my Shephards history.
I feel like I have to live or die by the decisions I made first time around. Even if that leads to the tragic death of Salarian Gilbert and Sullivan singing scientists. sob.

I've done 3 main play-throughs ready for me3,
1st one was my own actual desicions, bit of renegade, bit of paragon, saved who i wanted to
2nd play through is pure renegade, killing most of the team, bieng a general jerk.
3rd is a pure paragon play through, the ultimate hero
that way ill have 3 totally different plays in me 3

I'm pleased that someone at Bioware has realised that spoilers = bad. But they can't fool me. I'm sure some stuff will come out, and I'm still going into media blackout mode just in case. I've already bought ME3 on day 1 in my head anyway so I don't need to know anything.

They have just spoiled the frequency of spoilers that are going to be around for ME3, I should have been warned about this.

Fewer spoilers, not less spoilers.
I know we're all excited, but that's not excuse for bad grammar...
