Casey Hudson, BioWare's executive producer for the Mass Effect franchise, has teased the possibility of an MMO based in the sci-fi universe.
He told Game Informer that although the team hasn't come up with anything yet, multiplayer has a definite future in both BioWare and Mass Effect titles.
"We haven't yet come up with a way to do that, so we don't have anything to announce at this time. But, obviously, multiplayer is something we want to do more of in the future as a company."
He went on to talk specifically about the possibility of an MMO, saying that it's something fans have requested and a genre he feels the Mass Effect universe is well suited to.
"A lot of people say that they want to see an MMO, I think that kind of makes sense for this universe.
"I think Mass Effect has that quality to it. If you get rid of the Reapers and win that, wouldn't it be amazing to just live on the Citadel or just take a ship to Omega? That makes sense."
BioWare revealed the first proper Mass Effect 3 details last week.
