StarFox 64 3DS release date confirmed for Japan

Hotly anticipated remake coming in July

After revealing the latest 3DS release schedules for the US and Europe yesterday, Nintendo has announced the Japanese launch date for StarFox 64 3D.

The remake of the classic Nintendo 64 shoot 'em up will be available in Japan from July 14, two days before Ocarina Of Time is released in the country. StarFox 64 was missing from the latest Nintendo 3DS US and European release schedules so it looks as though Japan will be getting this game first.

The news was announced on the new official StarFox 64 website, which is definitely worth a visit for fans of the original game, if only to hear that classic music all over again. You can also see a small video of the Star Fox crew - Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi, Peppy Hare and Slippy Toad - running towards the Arwing.

StarFox 64 3D is one of those games that Nintendo say will be easier to play on 3DS. "With StarFox being shooting games in 3D space, it's sometime difficult to see where the rings are," Shigeru Miyamoto told Official Nintendo Magazine last year. "So as soon as we started work on 3DS we started work on the StarFox game."

Can we have the UK release date soon as please?
Good that the titles are steadily trickling in now.
Just as long as it's not called Lylat Wars 3DS over here.

It'll be Star Fox 64 over here as well as Nintendo now have the rights for that name. We've had Star Fox Adventures, Star Fox Assault and Star Fox Command since this came into play

Looking forward to this and will pick up it up when I get my 3DS later in the year
