Never understood why they do FREE gold weekends... doesn't benefit a active Gold Member, but benefits the cheapskate Silver surfers!

To tempt them to cough up, after they've seen how much fun they can have

Its called a promotion. Do you understand what a promotion is?
promotion
something devised to publicize or advertise a product, cause, institution, etc., as a brochure, free sample, poster, television or radio commercial, or personal appearance.

I've went to buy a game on Sale on XBL before but I am not Gold so it wouldn't give me the Discount. Do you know if this sale on Limbo etc are the same way? Or are Silver XBL users able to buy them at 600 MP too?

It would be nice if they added two days onto members who already have a gold membership. I'm very eager to see the SEGA sale as I'll have Sonic 4 if it's down to 600 points.

@Windowlicker79 your sarcasm kills me :S
Exactly Noobsaibot. I know it's to try and lure Silver Members into getting Gold, but really they just get there weekend fix and never bother with getting Gold and the annual Gold subscribers get nothing!

Just trying to be helpful

I don't really get what you are getting so upset about though. Surely having more people to play online against would be a good thing?
Do you react the same when you go to the supermarket and they have a promotion on? Do you get angry at the people who are trying the free little bits of sausage roll on the bakery counter because you've already got some at home that you paid for previously?
And most people who actually want to play online will pay for a subscription. Personally I don't like playing online. Partly because I'm not that great at playing games and partly because it just seems like a way to meet a continuous stream of rude, vulgar, racist, homophobic and generally completely unsavoury people. I probably wont bother going online on the free weekend. With regards to the people who will go online but don't usually have a gold subscription, they are most likely not that experienced and could just been seen as cannon fodder?
