Rage pre-order 'Anarchy Edition' announced

Bethesda and id Software have lifted the lid on a special Rage pre-order deal for North America, which will see keen buyers get their hands on the 'Anarchy Edition' of the game.

Those who slap down the cash early will get the Anarchy Edition free of charge, implying that it will be made available to all at a cost later.

The pack contains exclusive weapons in the form of the one-handed double shotgun for the classic id Software fan and the Fists of Rage; spiked knuckle dusters that enhance your melee attack.

Also included is something for the racing section of the game; a special buggy called the Rat Rod, which replaces the standard set of wheels.

Players will also be handed the Crimson Elite armour as an extra option within the game that combines all the attributes of the other suits normally available.

Finally, the Wasteland Sewer missions are also up for grabs as a collection of old abandoned, mutant infested tunnels for players to blast through.

Bethesda's Pete Hines told CVG that pre-order offers and special editions are still being worked out for territories outside of the US.

The latest Rage gameplay trailer showed off some of the fire power the game will be packing come release on September 16.
