Is WipEout Trinity the name of a new PS3 WipEout game we've been looking forward to for so long, or could it be the title for the confirmed NGP debut of the series?
Nothing has been confirmed, but internet hawks have uncovered that Sony Computer Entertainment registered the 'wipetrinity.com' domain in November last year.

Later, a job ad for the studio said it was looking for "an experienced and upbeat Senior Designer to work with a talented and experienced team on a high profile, futuristic racing franchise". Pretty much spells it out for you.
It could just be the NGP game already announced, but we're hoping for a new PS3 game.

Or, it could be a HD remastered compilation of the first three games in the series...

Has to be the first 3 games in HD using Pure's engine, which would be just perfect.

WipEout Trinity, eh?
If that isn't the first three games remade in HD, then I'll perform a fatality on myself using a spoon.

Cause to celebrate perhaps... WipEout 2048 hints at a return to the past (WipEout 2097 / XL) also, perhaps featuring a hybrid of tracks from Trinity.
It's a big conversion. The WOHD engine can be used but I'd be a bit concerned about "spill-over" from WOHD. I'm not a big fan of the barrel rolling and don't think it would complement the track design of WipEout / 2097 / Wip3out - the boost pads would need to be moved to compensate... Migrating all the tracks and vehicles from WipEout / 2097 and Wip3out - with added HD detail is hectic enough... WOHD handles quite differently... The weapons are different... SCE no longer has license to the music tracks from the original games...

they need to stop treating this series like a download only game.
if theres any game that would adapt best to the play, create, share formula, its this.
why cant we customise our ships? why cant we design our own tracks?
this game has so much potential but its being wasted. i hope these new titles have a good budget to work on.

I'd love for a HD re-make of the first game and tracks. I still have my original PS Wipeout, I kind of never enjoyed the other Wipeout games half as much. As for the music I play Wipeout HD with tracks pulled off the first games disc on the hard drive. I hope they keep the original format championship / single race and time trial format as that would be my only dislike with Wipeout HD. I prefer the mario kart style formula with the different class and championship setup.

A HD remake of all the original PS1 Wipeouts would be awesome. I too have ripped all the original audio tracks from these games and placed them on the PS3 hard drive. I play them when playing Wipeout HD Fury. I want a new Wipeout now, I said NOW. Sorry getting too excited.
