Ubisoft has launched a fresh teaser trailer for the new Assassin's Creed game ahead of its reveal later this month.
Posted on the publisher's Assassin's Facebook page, the trailer appears to flash the date 24.06.1459 atop an image of Hagia Sophia, "a former Orthodox patriarchal basilica, later a mosque, and now a museum in Istanbul, Turkey", according to Wiki.
Another Assassin's Creed teaser trailer was released earlier this week, shortly after Ubisoft seemingly accidentally confirmed the game will be subtitled 'Revelations'.
We'll know for sure when it's unveiled in US mag Game Informer on May 13.

In the PSP game, did Altair go to Cyprus? If so, that could also be a likely setting if it's going to be in that part of the world.

There goes my hopes of it being set in Nottingham then. Missing out on all the fun of climbing up Nottingham Castle, hiding out in the Caves of Nottingham, blowing up Wollaton Hall then going for a drink to celebrate in the Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem pub. I wouldn't fancy my chances in the Queen's Medical Centre if i suffered any injuries though.

I literally just ordered Brotherhood from ShopTo now that it's sub £20 (a promise I made myself on all games that I didn't deem a necessary purchase).
Just got the email to tell me it was shipped literally 5 minutes after completing the order. Bloody impressive, that.

Nuts to this - Victorian (or Georgian) London would be an awesome setting for AC. Lots of political upheavel, unification of the UK etc. as a backdrop. PLUS stab Jack the Ripper to death from the rooftops of Whitechapel. Get on it Ubi!

Know you've ordered it and all, but it was just £1 / £3 more for the Da Vinci Edition on Gamestation.co.uk: PS3 / 360
By look of it it was also a £1 less than ShopTo for the regular edition. I know they're a part of GAME but their deals have been pretty good lately. Feel a bit bad for pointing it out, but I suppose if you use ShopTo enough you get discount anyway...
As for the new game I'm not too fussed where or when it is, I just want more of Desmond's story, you know the bit that actually matters. The whole reason for these trips to the past. Too much to ask isn't it Ubisoft? Need to milk it just a bit more yet.

There are plenty of hints at the end of ACB to suggest Desmond might not even be the ultimate protagonist, and rather that he is some sort of gateway to the other protagonists for someone who has already witnessed the coming apocalypse... All very meta/4th wall/Inception. 1459 (the year Ezio was born) at the HS in Istanbul (the crossroads between the Christian and Islamic worlds) is intriguing though. That's a very Altairy setting and a very Ezio/'s dad date.
Agree Victorian London would be a perfect setting for a new AC game (AC3?) but if AC:Revelations is the to be AC1's "AC:Brotherhood" and still keeps advancing Desmond's plot I'm all for it. Something set almost entirely in Istanbul starring Altair, perhaps including memories from Ezio or his father revisiting the same locations in the 15th century as well as Desmond in the 21st would make a nice companion piece to Brotherhood without full advancing to AC3.

Yeah, I could have done without that information - so thanks!
Nah, I'd still have got it from ShopTo anyway. Better delivery, plus there are benefits to buying lots from there. In fact, it was even cheaper at Zavvi, but it is out of stock - as well as Gamestation.
Did consider the Da Vinci edition, but I'm not really that fussed about the DLC, even at £3 more.

ShopTo are just the best online retailer when it comes to service and delivery.

I don't know about everybody else, but this game better be something out of this world great. Because I'm really burnt out on Assassin's Greed.

Maybe include memories of altair and ezio's dad working together at some point?
But hold on? Wasn't Altair's time in 1191 (the third crusade)? How could Altair be in the next game (should it be set in 1459)?

Would that not be creeping into Thief territory?
