Konami promises new announcements for pre-E3 show

Could a new MGS be on the cards?

Konami is to host its first ever pre-E3 show prior to June's Los Angeles consumer show, the publisher has announced.

The event will be streamed live online on June 2 (June 3 GMT), and the firm promises "new company announcements, exclusive interviews with developers, and never-before-seen game trailers". Could a new Metal Gear Soild game make an appearance? Stay tuned.

Konami will also be hosting live viewing events for the Pre-E3 Show 2011, which will be held in a number of cities across the globe including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto, São Paulo, Mexico City and more to be announced.

"The annual E3 show is the world's marquee video game conference and trade show event that draws a critical mass of gaming enthusiasts from all over the globe," said Martin Schneider, General Manager of Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. "This year, we want to build buzz ahead of E3 by hosting our own Pre-E3 show that will tie the viewing party attendees from each city with online viewers."

Streaming footage will be available from www.konami.com - although we'll obviously see if we can host it for you right here on CVG.

E3 kicks off at the Los Angeles Convention Center from June 7 to June 9, 2011. Last year's even attracted approximately 45,000 attendees and nearly 400 exhibitors.

I doubt it will be a new one, it wasn't long ago I filled out a MGS survey on Facebook on the series about which characters and gameplay etc. should be in the next one. So maybe a MGS trilogy, if so I'm not sure if I would want the original MGS remade or a port of Twin Snakes; which is the 'improved' version. :?:

The trilogy would be sweet in HD like Snake Eater on 3DS but better looking.......mmmm....Snake Eater my personnel favourate of the series except for Peace Walker they are both damn good. :D

I think a proper remake of MGS1 would be good since Twin Snakes was quite different.

Snake Eater is my favourite too. I would like a new game where you play as Big Boss since Solid Snake's story is supposedly done now.

i still want Metal Gear 1 and 2 to be remade because that is where Snake was introduced and many people, myself included have not experienced those two games, and Snake Vs Big Boss...how great would it be to see that??..and of course they would serve as the transition from playing as Big Boss in Snake Eater,Port Ops and Peace Walker to playing Snake in The Twin Snakes,Sons of Liberty,Guns of Patriots

and i didn't think Twin Snakes was that different to MGS1,just better graphics and first person mode....the story pretty much stayed the same

I logged on to say I hope it is a MGS collection and it turns out that's what everyone else wants too. Please, please, please let this happen. I've got all the games and a backwards compatible PS3 but I want to play for trophies as well!

P.S. MGS 4 trophy patch as well please!

Metal gear 1 and 2 need remakes! They're important parts of both Solid Snake and Big Boss' story, loads of people haven't played or even know what happens in them. But an MGS collection would be awesome as well. We need a trophy patch for MGS4 too, even games that came out before MGS4 like uncharted 1, got trophy patches. Twin Snakes annoyed me in way, it made snake some acrobatic soldier. He just isn't acrobatic. But overall i would prefer that to be in an MGS collection instead of the original, it would suit the other games better, but it probably wont. :(

Yeah, a remake of Metal Gear 1 and 2 would be a good idea. The original versions came with Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (the special edition) but they were kinda hard to play so I never finished them or even really played much.

It changed dialogue and music and cutscenes. It had Snake doing backflips and stuff. I just preferred the original.

Might just be a portable game for NGP, something along the lines of the MGS demo shown when it was revealed. Either way, more MGS is great news because I adore the series. Never got into it on PSP because of 1 analogue stick, never finished Portable Ops and I'm not buying Peace Walker.

MSX original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 remakes (AND EXPANSION) would be great.

Bossman, you really should consider getting Peace Walker. I played Portable Ops and thought it was alright, and was a bit skeptical of Peace Walker, but it is awesome. I have played almost 100 hours of it - and I don't really even like the PSP!

You guys do realise that Komani makes games other than Metal Gear right?
Get ya hand off it already!
Im guessing we'll see a sequel to last years Castlevania: Lords of shadow, which would be sweet.
But I guess im the odd man out when I say I would like to see something new from the house that Metal Gear built;)
