Activision has said during an investors call today that Call of Duty: Black Ops has become the best-selling game of all time since its release in November last year.
Noting in its Q1 2011 financial results sheet, the firm said: "During the first quarter, Call of Duty: Black Ops became the best-selling game of all time in dollars across the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and the PC in the U.S. and Europe and was also the #1 game in the U.S. and Europe for the quarter."
It didn't reveal any specific sales figures, but asserted that the Call of Duty franchise is going stronger than ever.
In the five months since its release, Activision says Black Ops has attracted more than 33% more total unique online gamers than its record-breaking predecessor, Modern Warfare 2.
It also confirmed that digital downloads of the Black Ops First Strike content pack were more than 20% higher than digital downloads of the Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Pack "during the comparable period in 2010."
