Oskari Hakkinen, head of franchise development at Remedy, has confirmed there is more Alan Wake coming soon, but mysteriously he said it won't be a sequel or downloadable content for the first game.
Fans of Remedy's atmospheric, narrative driven survival horror title Alan Wake have been eagerly anticipating some definitive confirmation that a new title is on the way, but have so far only been teased by the mention of a sequel on a CV.
"Fans of the franchise will be excited to learn that yes, more Wake is coming. But to be absolutely certain to avoid confusion, this next Wake instalment will not be Alan Wake 2. And neither will it be DLC," Hakkinen told Eurogamer.
He added that the product will "give more" to fans of the original as well as serve as a gateway for those new to the franchise. He went on to say that ""fall 2011 is probably a good guess" for when those fans can expect to experience more Alan Wake.
Remedy recently published job ads indicating the studio was working on a Kinect project using the Alan Wake engine.
The developer has also claimed that it has created a new animation tool that will leave the technology Team Bondi is using for LA Noire behind.
