Bungie spin-off company trademarks 'Crimson'

Listed as game "downloadable from a global computer network and wireless devices"

New Bungie spin-off company Bungie Aerospace has filed a trademark for something called "Crimson".

According to a United States Patent and Trademark Office listing spotted by GameSpot, Crimson is principally listed as "computer game software downloadable from a global computer network".

It is also listed as "computer game software for use on mobile and cellular phones" and "downloadable computer game software via a global computer network and wireless devices".

It was revealed earlier this week by the Washington State Business License Directory that Bungie president Harold Ryan will serve as a director of the newly formed Bungie Aerospace.

Bungie job ads for mobile app developers posted in January revealed the studio "is embarking on a new and challenging journey".

Whether the journey mentioned is Bungie's new franchise for publisher Activision - which is heavily rumoured to feature a persistent MMO-style world - remains unclear.

Either way, we're unlikely to find out for a little while yet. Bungie has announced it won't have an official presence at next month's E3 event.
