5th Cell's Hybrid slips to 2012

Scribblenauts dev taking its time to make XBLA shooter "something great"

5th Cell has delayed Xbox Live Arcade third person shooter Hybrid from this year to 2012.

The studio's creative director Jeremiah Slaczka told IGN that the game had been "very well received... at GDC" in March, but said "an additional year" would allow the firm to "take what [it has] learned and really drill down on our ideas to hopefully transform this game into something great".

5th Cell describes Hybrid as "a pioneering third person shooter set in a devastated post apocalyptic world, giving players a completely new gameplay experience never seen before in the genre".

The reveal trailer showed off a city ravaged by war, seemingly started by an enemy referred to as 'Variants'.
