First L.A Noire review scores arrive

High-end scores at the business end of the law

Our L.A Noire review went live yesterday and we're sure you've already had a good look over it and absorbed all the necessary goodness to make your own informed decision.

If you haven't, go and have a look now. We can tell you, though, that we loved the title but felt it fell just short of world-beating genius.

But what do the world's other critics think? Well, our friends over at GamesRadar went .1 better than us awarding L.A Noire a 9 out of 10 - calling it "a staggering technological achievement, offering up a fantastically detailed open world, a hugely engrossing story, varied gameplay and some of the best acting performances ever to appear in a game."

Destructoid, Joystiq and Gamespot agreed whole-heartedly with Joystiq astutely pointing out that "L.A. Noire may not always be 'fun' in the traditional sense, but it's also unsatisfied with being 'merely fun', and the result of that aspiration is something that no one who cares about video games should miss.

1UP, The Guardian and Giant Bomb were somewhat in love with the latest from the Rockstar brand, however, each chucking every single percent they could find at L.A Noire.

At the other end of the spectrum, the lowest L.A Noire has scored so far comes from tech mag Wired with a still very good score of 80 percent, which Eurogamer and GameBlog France agreed with.

Cheers Metallicorphan. I tend to enjoy Eurogamer's take on games, though there's no guarantee I'll always agree with their various writers' perspectives.

I'd like to see Edge's review. If they give it 10/10 then you know its a top title.
