We must admit that our obsession with taking the 3DS everywhere in the hope of StreetPass encounters has waned, but it may just be restored by this.
Nintendo has announced a deal with major US retailer Best Buy that was see free SpotPass content beamed to 3DS consoles in some 1000 stores across the States from June 7.
That date lines up with the planned release of the 3DS eShop update, which was pushed back from May to June 6 in US, and June 7 in UK.
No specific content was detailed, but Nintendo says 3DS carriers will get "exclusive offers as well as additional entertainment content such as gaming extras and movie trailers".
Although there's no official word, we have our fingers crossed for similar announcement for UK soon.
